Julieline (Julie) Serrano

Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Assistant

As the Legislative and Regulatory Assistant at the Insurance Council of New Jersey, Julieline “Julie” is responsible for legislative, legal, and insurance-related research projects, managing daily newsletter communications as well as managing all communication outlets to ICNJ members.

Born to two Brazilian immigrants, she is the first in her family to have attended college, graduating from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. While attending Rutgers, Julie worked at BG Barbershop in Ocean Township as a part-time barber. She also has interned at the 19th Legislative District office where she conducted general office duties and issue-related research projects.

Studying Political Science, Julie was deeply involved with the University. She has served as a student voice on several University boards, including the Board of Trustee’s and the University Senate Executive Committee. Julie also served on the Executive Board of the Rutgers University Student Assembly, advocating for improved quality of life issues on campus.
